The Warsaw Rising Museum, commemorating one of the most important national liberation uprisings, a symbol of resistance to the German occupation, is housed in a historic building of the former tram power plant. It offers one of the most interactive exhibitions in Poland to its visitors, bringing history closer by activating all the senses. Visitors move among the rubble of the dilapidated capital, can enter a canal, and are constantly accompanied by the sound of a beating heart coming from the monument which is the centre of the exhibition and symbolises the resistance of thousands of Varsovians. Numerous collections are open to visitors, including a 1:1 scale replica of the Liberator B-24J plane, photos and videos from the era, and many other artifacts, as well as hours of recordings in which the insurgents themselves talk about their experiences. The youngest visitors are also catered to – in the bright and colourful Hall of the Little Insurgent, a theater, old toys, board games, and the opportunity to play the role of scout postmen and nurses await them. Thanks to this, they will learn about the difficult past in a friendly way.
The museum also hosts numerous events, as well as thematic temporary exhibitions. Tickets can be purchased on the museum’s website.
