The traditions of Oberża pod Czerwonym Wieprzem (The Inn Under the Red Hog) dates back to the 19th century, and the restaurant owes its name to the communist (“red”) dignitaries at the time, headed by Lenin and Dzerzhinsky. Today’s place refers to a bygone era, reflecting its atmosphere thanks to the interior design and historical exhibits gathered on site, as well as dishes recreating the tastes of the past. In the menu, right next to Polish cuisine from the communist period, there are dishes from countries that can no longer be found on the map – the Soviet Union, the German Democratic Republic, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia. The place therefore takes the guests on an extraordinary journey through time. Many have already tasted it, including a Hollywood actor Bruce Willis or Jolanta and Aleksander Kwaśniewscy.
